About the Role and Company
The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, is a prestigious 5-star luxury resort located on the Arabian Gulf shores, featuring 374 beautifully designed rooms and suites, fine dining options, and wellness facilities including a Spa and Fitness Center. The General Technician role is focused on maintaining guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas to the highest standards of The Ritz-Carlton. This position supports the hotel's legendary service by ensuring rooms and facilities meet maintenance and cleanliness expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance for guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces including mattress flipping, furniture inspection, upholstery and carpet spot cleaning, and touch-up painting or furniture repair.
- Maintain and clean guest rooms following the hotel’s preventative maintenance procedures and quality guidelines.
- Perform minor repairs such as tightening fixtures, changing light bulbs, repairing grout, and patching wall holes.
- Clean all guestroom surfaces including tubs, wall tiles, floors, windows, mirrors, and walls.
- Report safety hazards, serious maintenance concerns, or unusual findings promptly to supervisory staff.
- Observe company safety and security policies, report accidents or unsafe conditions, and complete necessary training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect company assets, and ensure confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Greet guests courteously and anticipate their service needs in line with company standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet shared goals and uphold service quality expectations.
- Physical demands include bending, lifting, pushing, pulling objects up to 50 pounds independently and assisting with heavier loads, as well as standing, walking, or sitting for extended durations.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience preferred: Less than one year in a related field; no supervisory experience required.
- No license or certification required.
