Job Overview
Amazon invites applications for multiple permanent night-shift Maintenance Technician roles at its brand-new operational site located in Horsley Park, Sydney. These technicians will play a vital role in sustaining the site’s safe and efficient functioning by maintaining and repairing various material handling and automated distribution machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive and preventative maintenance on site machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and fix faults in equipment during live warehouse operations.
- Develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies to minimize equipment downtime.
- Utilize specialized tools to enhance machinery effectiveness and reliability.
- Adhere to and advocate for stringent health and safety regulations while working.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must possess formal trade qualifications such as Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current electrical trade license, or Certificate III in Engineering or Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner), or an equivalent certification formally recognized in Australia.
- Demonstrated experience working with planned preventative maintenance programs.
- Proven skills in fault detection within material handling and automation systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers, and inverters.
- Familiarity with health and safety standards applicable in industrial environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Exposure to sortation machinery and systems.
- Experience in maintaining and configuring barcode scanners.
- Knowledge of print and apply labeling machines.
Work Schedule and Benefits
The role requires working night shifts on a 4-day rotating roster with 10-hour shifts each day. Employees in these positions are entitled to annual leave and receive penalty rates where applicable.
