Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician position involves providing essential maintenance support for production and utility technologies at a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing site. This role forms part of a larger maintenance team responsible for comprehensive upkeep of plant operations, equipment, and auxiliary services, while promoting continuous improvement and problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assigned maintenance work orders timely and effectively, as directed by the Maintenance Manager or delegates.
- Perform reactive, predictive, corrective, and preventive maintenance on production lines, troubleshoot issues, devise action plans, and document the interventions.
- Monitor overall equipment effectiveness (OE), identify process bottlenecks, and collaborate with production teams on problem-solving.
- Deliver or participate in technical training for production personnel, focusing on critical equipment and one-point lessons.
- Standardize machine settings, engineering work, spare parts usage, training, procedures, and records to minimize adjustments on tooling and parts replacement.
- Drive continuous improvements by facilitating problem-solving events and conducting gap analyses on manufacturing data to prioritize efforts.
- Execute all maintenance activities safely, complying with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Participate in shift handovers to ensure smooth documentation and communication between shifts.
- Support key site projects that align with company objectives as a member of project teams.
- Champion and implement site-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Holds NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds, NFQ Level 5 National Craft Certificate, completed a time-served apprenticeship, or has an equivalent engineering qualification.
- Experienced in high-volume, fast-paced environments such as FMCG, manufacturing, or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Proven ability to define, develop, implement, and execute projects effectively within a fast manufacturing setting.
- Possesses a process improvement mindset with eagerness to learn new technologies and methods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a team-oriented attitude.
