Position Overview

Chevron Oronite invites applications for the role of Maintenance & Reliability Technician at its plant located on Jurong Island, Singapore. Applications are open until 18 September 2026, 11:59 p.m. (SGT). Candidates are advised to review the Data Privacy Notice prior to applying.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks according to the asset integrity program, including visual inspections and condition monitoring of pressure vessels, tanks, piping systems, and civil infrastructure.
  • Evaluate data gathered from inspection, testing, and maintenance routines to enhance asset integrity, equipment reliability, and the effectiveness of maintenance practices.
  • Generate SAP work orders based on inspection findings and recommendations, preparing repair procedures incorporating non-destructive testing (NDT) and hydrotesting requirements aligned with company QA/QC standards.
  • Document and update plant equipment maintenance and inspection records by producing reports using the Asset Performance Management (APM) system.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and NDT service providers to conduct field monitoring and inspection activities.
  • Provide support in addressing urgent production concerns related to the reliability and integrity of fixed equipment, piping, and rotating machinery, including timely response to leaks and ensuring repairs meet standards.
  • Review and approve contractor-submitted Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and develop ITPs when necessary.
  • Assess and endorse third-party NDT results and quality control (QC) documentation submitted by contractors.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma in mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience working in refineries or petrochemical environments.
  • Strong familiarity and hands-on experience with fixed equipment and piping inspection, repair, and installation activities, including welding inspection and non-destructive testing techniques.
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness, with practical knowledge of chemical plant safety protocols, Permit to Work systems, and Job Safety Risk Analysis (JSRA) preparation.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of interacting clearly with personnel at various organizational levels and across functions; proactive in engaging cross-functional teams to resolve plant issues.

Work Location and Additional Information

The successful candidate will be stationed at the Chevron Oronite facility on Jurong Island, Singapore. Relocation assistance is not available as per Chevron policies. Employment will be under Singapore local payroll and benefits schemes.
