About Nestlé Estcourt
Join Nestlé SA at our Estcourt location and be part of a leading company that offers beloved food brands such as Nescafé, Ricoffy, Milo, and Nestlé Hot Chocolate. We foster an inclusive culture that inspires innovation, strategic thinking, creativity, and celebrates achievement while promoting continuous learning and growth in a collaborative environment.
Role Overview
As a Maintenance Planner at the Estcourt factory, you will enhance manufacturing reliability, safety, and cost-efficiency by systematically organizing maintenance activities. Your planning will balance production schedules, manpower, asset criticality, availability of spare parts, contractor coordination, safety, and environmental considerations to ensure timely and optimized execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive maintenance schedules that integrate production demands, resource availability, criticality of assets, safety protocols, spare parts, and contractor readiness.
- Champion work order discipline within AMM/SAP PM systems by crafting, scheduling, reviewing, and regulating work orders, task lists, maintenance plans, and technical feedback to enhance planned maintenance execution.
- Leverage digital solutions such as AMM Mobile and maintenance dashboards to increase work visibility, streamline technician feedback, reduce paperwork, and accelerate decision-making.
- Support total productive maintenance (TPM) strategies, predictive maintenance, and breakdown analyses by utilizing work order histories and maintenance data to improve equipment reliability and control maintenance costs.
- Ensure alignment between maintenance plans and technical stores by managing spare parts inventories, bills of materials (BOMs), kit preparation, and critical stock accuracy to prevent delays.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, food safety, environmental, statutory, energy, and water regulations, including controls for high-risk tasks and asset integrity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma, BTech, Degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
- At least three years’ experience in technical maintenance, engineering planning, or manufacturing settings, ideally within food production, FMCG, or automated facilities.
- Proven hands-on experience using CMMS, AMM/SAP PM, or related digital maintenance management tools, including work order handling, scheduling, maintenance plans, and KPI reporting.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills with the capacity to interpret maintenance data and trends to optimize reliability and cost efficiencies.
- Understanding of TPM, planned and predictive maintenance practices, breakdown investigations, technical stores oversight, and maintenance KPIs.
- Capability to collaborate effectively across departments such as Production, Engineering, SHE, Quality, Technical Stores, and external contractors.
- Recommended to have attended foundational SHE, Food Safety, and maintenance excellence courses.
- Experience with equipment commissioning and maintenance setup for new production lines is a plus.
