Role Overview
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Maintenance Officer will carry out general maintenance and repair work on buildings, fixtures, fittings, and associated structures. The role aims to ensure a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors in line with the Home Maintenance Plan.
- Oversee, inspect, and execute statutory, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities on-site
- Supervise and coordinate external contractors working at the facility
- Maintain aesthetic standards and compliance for a safe workplace
- Conduct maintenance tasks including cleaning, painting, lighting upkeep, TV installations, hanging artworks, rubbish disposal, air-conditioning checks, tiling, basic plumbing, furniture relocation, and general repairs
- Ensure planned maintenance and asset upkeep align with legislative mandates and the Maintenance Plan
- Adhere strictly to relevant legislation throughout maintenance works
- Engage preferred suppliers as necessary, ensuring work stays within budget and follows established workflows
- Complete scheduled tasks within set deadlines
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 2 years' relevant experience in maintenance roles, preferably in similar environments
- Prior experience managing contractors on-site
- Proven ability handling maintenance budgets, work orders, and requisitions
- Strong teamwork skills and effective collaboration capabilities
- Working knowledge of applicable legislation, codes, and standards
- Competent computer literacy for job-related functions
- Holds a current driver's license
- Required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
- Willingness to complete a National Police Check/NDIS Workers Check before starting
Location
This position is based at Hillside Aged Care in Heathfield, situated in the scenic Adelaide Hills approximately 15km from Adelaide city centre. The site provides a tranquil environment surrounded by natural bushland and tall trees.
