Maintenance Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Officer to become part of the engineering team at voco Gold Coast. This full-time onsite position involves maintaining hotel facilities to ensure a safe and high-quality environment for both guests and staff.

Key Duties

• Perform general maintenance tasks, repairs, and scheduled preventative maintenance across the hotel premises.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Maintain guest rooms, public spaces, service areas, and hotel equipment to exceptional standards.
• Contribute to refurbishment projects involving painting, grouting, silicone application, and general upkeep.
• Carry out routine inspections to identify maintenance needs proactively.
• Adhere strictly to hotel safety policies, operational procedures, and compliance mandates.
• Work collaboratively within the Engineering team to keep all operational areas prepared and guest-ready at all times.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a trade qualification or relevant certification is preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in maintenance, repair works, facilities management, or similar roles.
• Hands-on knowledge of building systems and skilled with hand and power tools, along with basic plumbing, electrical tasks, and preventative maintenance methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities combined with the ability to independently prioritize and manage tasks.
• Proficiency in literacy, numeracy, and computer usage, including Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
• Good physical stamina capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended durations.
• Holding an electrical license or additional relevant qualifications will be considered advantageous.
• Availability and flexibility to work rotating shifts covering evenings and weekends.
