Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager with a solid engineering foundation and enthusiasm for building effective teams and enhancing plant reliability at our manufacturing facility in Limerick. This leadership position requires ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant, machinery, and equipment through strong management of maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and nurture a diverse team of Engineers, Technicians, and Apprentices working on multiple shifts.
- Guarantee adequate engineering coverage and manage weekly scheduling.
- Formulate and oversee planned and preventative maintenance programs.
- Collaborate closely with Operations Planning to align engineering activities with production goals.
- Offer expert advice and support during complex equipment failures.
- Promote a proactive maintenance mindset to minimize reactive repairs and emergency fixes.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis on critical failures and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- Track and improve engineering KPIs, including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), progressively month over month.
- Reduce unexpected downtime and enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
- Manage maintenance budgets, contractor relationships, and spare parts inventory efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain comprehensive maintenance documentation ready for audits.
- Support capital investment projects and oversee engineering aspects of new equipment installation, testing, and commissioning.
Candidate Profile
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background with recognized apprenticeship or engineering qualification.
- Extensive experience overseeing maintenance or engineering functions in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
- Proven capability in leading, mentoring, and developing cross-functional engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of planned and preventative maintenance methodologies.
- Demonstrated success in boosting plant reliability and minimizing unscheduled downtime.
- Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
- Strong analytical skills and an evidence-based problem-solving approach.
- Experience handling engineering budgets, contractor management, and spare parts cost control.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating cross-department collaboration.
- Committed to upholding health and safety standards alongside high engineering quality.
