This role is based onsite in Gadsden, Alabama.
Role Summary
The Maintenance Helper provides assistance to maintenance technicians across various trades, supporting task completion and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all mandatory training as dictated by government and organizational guidelines.
- Execute assigned duties efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Communicate clearly with students, management, staff, corporate representatives, and public groups.
- Apply strong analytical skills to interpret and manage data effectively.
- Build positive working relationships across departments.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of departmental tasks.
- Interact professionally and courteously with a diverse range of individuals.
- Adhere strictly to company safety policies and correctly utilize personal protective equipment when required.
- Follow company standard operating procedures and personnel policies diligently.
Qualifications and Requirements
Mandatory:
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of one year experience in groundskeeping or related maintenance work.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening as required by contract.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Preferred:
- Advanced training in landscaping or related fields.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds, waxes, polishes, disinfectants, and their appropriate use.
Working Conditions
- Role involves physical activities including lifting, climbing, bending, and use of various tools and equipment, often in different weather conditions.
- Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and mechanical hazards necessitates strict adherence to safety protocols and use of PPE.
- Work environment typically has moderate noise levels.
- Occasional weekend or evening shifts may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing are essential components of the job.
- Occasional use of hands to finger, handle, or feel tools and equipment, as well as reaching with arms.
- Close working proximity to others, such as shared office spaces.
- Lifting and moving items up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Required visual capabilities include close vision and focus adjustment.
