About the Role
Aveo invites individuals passionate about fostering genuine connections and enhancing lives to join their team at Cleveland Gardens Retirement Living, a mature community with over 200 independent and serviced apartments. This full-time, Monday through Friday position from 7 am to 3 pm involves maintaining safe, functional, and well-kept living environments, playing a crucial role in supporting senior residents.
Key Duties
- Perform general repairs and handy work including painting, hanging pictures, and replacing lighting fixtures.
- Conduct minor plumbing tasks such as changing taps and washers.
- Maintain external assets including lighting and irrigation systems.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance throughout the community.
- Manage tools and equipment to ensure safety, organization, and readiness for use.
- Document maintenance work, notes, and updates on jobs performed.
- Maintain a friendly, approachable presence to foster positive relationships with residents and collaborate effectively with the team.
Qualifications and Traits
- Previous experience in general maintenance, trade-related roles, or hands-on handy tasks.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset enabling effective issue assessment, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Understanding of maintenance schedules and the longevity expectations of equipment and community assets.
- Strong verbal communication skills to explain maintenance processes clearly and courteously to residents.
- Positive attitude with a strong sense of pride in one's work and approachability.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
- Completion of at least two COVID-19 vaccinations as a prerequisite.
