Job Overview
This role involves comprehensive maintenance responsibilities for both mechanical and electrical systems in a production setting to ensure optimal machine health, reduce downtime, and maintain safety compliance.
Mechanical & Machinery Maintenance
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues involving motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct routine inspections to detect early signs of machine failures.
- Perform lubrication, servicing, alignment, and component replacement timely.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers and service engineers for complex repairs.
Electrical Maintenance Duties
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical panels, motors, contactors, sensors, and control units.
- Manage electrical faults and ensure integrity of power supply systems including cables, MCBs, and MCCs.
- Assist in the setup and upkeep of new machinery installations.
- Adhere to electrical safety standards and coordinate with external contractors for specialized tasks.
Planned Maintenance Activities
- Develop and follow scheduled preventive maintenance routines on daily to annual basis.
- Keep detailed checklists and maintenance logs per machine.
- Identify patterns in machine performance to reduce repeat failures.
- Ensure availability of essential spare parts aligned with maintenance needs.
Handling Breakdowns
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns to limit production impact.
- Conduct root cause analysis and apply corrective measures.
- Maintain records of breakdowns and repair histories.
- Prioritize machine repairs in collaboration with production teams.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Determine critical spare parts requirements and maintain adequate inventory.
- Liaise with procurement and stores departments to secure timely supplies.
- Track consumption and replacement of spare parts thoroughly.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ensure machinery and electrical systems operate safely and comply with regulations.
- Identify hazards related to maintenance and initiate corrective measures.
- Contribute to factory safety audits and statutory inspections.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive records of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Prepare and submit daily and monthly maintenance reports.
- Monitor key performance indicators like MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Maintain history logs and service documentation for all equipment.
