Maintenance Electrician / Mechanical Fitter

Position Overview

We are seeking skilled Maintenance Electricians and Mechanical Fitters to join a dynamic manufacturing facility located in Kurri Kurri, NSW. This full-time dayshift role involves hands-on work supporting production by maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure continuous operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine preventative maintenance and promptly attend to machinery breakdowns.
• Diagnose mechanical or electrical faults and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
• Perform general upkeep and servicing of plant and machinery.
• Collaborate closely with the maintenance and production teams to sustain equipment functionality.
• Identify recurring maintenance challenges and implement solutions for improvement.
• Mentor and guide a third-year adult apprentice fitter (optional, for candidates interested in knowledge sharing).

Mechanical Fitter Requirements

• Hold a Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Possess at least 3 to 4 years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability in maintenance and breakdown repair tasks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good physical fitness and readiness to engage in practical hands-on work.
• Positive attitude and effective teamwork skills.

Additional Desirable Skills for Mechanical Fitters

• Experience in welding.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics systems.
• Forklift and overhead crane licenses are advantageous.

Maintenance Electrician Requirements

• Electrical Trade Certificate is essential.
• Minimum 3 to 4 years of manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in electrical fault detection and repair.
• Experience with automated machinery and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
• Strong safety awareness and problem-solving skills.
