Role Overview
Mitolo Family Farms is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to oversee the planning, scheduling, and management of maintenance activities and stores at our Virginia production site. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position serves as a vital bridge between maintenance teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and supervise daily and preventative maintenance tasks including weekend shifts to minimize downtime and improve equipment longevity.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to determine maintenance schedules and execute them effectively.
- Manage work rosters and communicate weekend maintenance plans to relevant parties.
- Administer the computerized maintenance management system (MEX) by entering tasks, equipment details, and generating relevant reports for management.
- Oversee maintenance inventory including stocktaking, procurement, and supplier negotiation to ensure cost-effective sourcing.
- Support implementation of new maintenance systems and stores, and assist engineering teams during high-workload projects.
- Maintain appropriate safety documentation related to chemicals, oils, and machinery.
- Conduct stock control activities including ordering parts and consumables and handling new stock arrivals.
- Prioritize Health & Safety by performing all duties responsibly and promptly reporting hazards to support a culture centered on safety and quality.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven background in maintenance planning is essential.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system like MEX or comparable tools.
- Knowledge of procurement and receiving processes.
- Competent computer skills.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and practices.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Capability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Consistent and honest communication across all management levels.
- Positive, proactive mindset with high personal conduct and presentation standards.
- Skill in building and maintaining respectful, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Quick decision-making skills based on critical evaluation of information.
