Maintenance Assistant

About the Role

Sheen Falls Lodge is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join their team in Killarney, County Kerry. This position involves working under the supervision of the Property Manager to ensure the hotel, estate, and grounds are maintained at the highest standards to provide an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and general maintenance tasks throughout the property.
• Repair and replace equipment and its components as necessary.
• Monitor building systems and equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Conduct plumbing work including pipe installation and repairs.
• Carry out painting and decorating duties.
• Repair roofs, gutters, windows, and doors.
• Handle carpentry tasks, floor maintenance, plastering, and drywall repairs.
• Support the broader Maintenance team in maintaining the hotel and estate’s appearance and functionality.

Candidate Profile

• Ideal candidates possess a plumbing qualification and/or significant practical plumbing experience.
• Have at least two years’ experience in plumbing and/or general maintenance work.
• Demonstrate broad knowledge of building maintenance including plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, boilers, generators, and painting.
• Are proficient with maintenance tools, materials, and best practices.
• Can effectively organize and prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Exhibit a positive, solution-oriented mindset with keen attention to detail.
• Hold a full, clean driving licence.
