Job Overview
The Maintenance and Engineering Technician will execute assigned electrical, controls, and engineering maintenance tasks safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively to ensure equipment readiness and line availability within scheduled timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assigned work orders including electrical, controls, and maintenance engineering tasks.
- Support and track the improvement plans of PepsiCo Maintenance Methodology (PEMM) throughout the year.
- Diagnose technical problems, determine necessary actions and parts, and execute maintenance schedules to comply with engineering standards.
- Implement and uphold AIB and safety standards consistently.
- Maintain and update SAP PM & CM work order statuses accurately.
- Identify root causes of recurring issues and major equipment problems.
- Participate actively in the implementation and continuous improvement of the EHS Management System in line with PepsiCo GEHSMS and relevant electrical standards to ensure risk controls and EHS targets are met.
- Operate utility-related equipment and monitor daily parameters as assigned.
- Produce daily shift activity reports and maintain meticulous maintenance records.
- Collaborate with production to identify opportunities for process improvements aimed at enhancing quality, safety, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Contribute to the execution of site Maintenance and Reliability strategies to achieve world-class status.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and failure analysis techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Attend maintenance forums to share performance data, best practices, challenges, and successes.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical & Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience preferred.
- Practical knowledge in troubleshooting electrical equipment, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and controls.
- Experience working with LT & MCC, feeder and control panels.
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and basic Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) principles.
- Understanding of maintenance planning and execution systems.
- Knowledge of automation and operating systems as well as Quality and Food Safety (QFS) policies.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams, layouts, and schematic drawings within the electrical and instrumentation field.
- Competence with maintenance management software (CMMS) is advantageous.
- Basic computer skills including MS Office applications.
- Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and communication.
