Job description
Position Summary
The Machine Operator works under the guidance of the Operations Manager or Team Lead to execute daily assignments. Training will be provided on manufacturing machinery. The operator must adhere to posted or manager-directed processes and procedures.
Job Duties
- Operate various machinery including cutting, threading, headers, benders, and other manufacturing equipment
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
- Perform quality checks at designated points for each machine
- Maintain safety standards and housekeeping in the work area
- Complete required paperwork as instructed by management
- Utilize forklifts for material loading and transport
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
- Forklift certification required
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience operating warehouse equipment and forklift training completion
- Ability to recognize parts assigned for processing
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Good organizational and mathematical proficiency
- Accuracy and attention to detail in work
- Familiarity with TFI and OSHA safety regulations
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds for over 4 hours per shift
- Capacity to work in varying temperature conditions including hot, humid, and cold environments
- Ability to work in confined spaces for over 4 hours per shift
- Frequent bending, crawling, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and ladder climbing for over 4 hours per shift
- Capabilities to sit, stand, and walk for 6 or more hours per shift
- Perform fine motor tasks such as grasping, pushing, pulling, and sensory tasks for 6 or more hours per shift
- Operate foot pedals for over 4 hours per shift
- Must have good auditory and visual discrimination, and effective communication skills
