The Global Payment division at ByteDance delivers comprehensive payment services including transaction acquisition, disbursement, method management, foreign exchange, accounting, and reconciliation. These services ensure seamless and secure payment experiences across ByteDance's platforms.

The Global Payments Compliance team builds a robust compliance framework involving sanction screening, transaction monitoring, and risk rating. This framework supports business growth while safeguarding leadership from legal risks.

Role Responsibilities

• Enhance payment risk feature engineering and develop fraud evaluation mechanisms.
• Create universal detection models for fraud and account takeover applicable to global payment contexts.
• Investigate usage of sequence models, graph neural networks, and large language models for risk control applications.
• Design machine learning models to identify cross-border and regional payment risks worldwide.
• Streamline modeling processes to boost development efficiency and minimize maintenance efforts.
• Research and apply advanced machine learning algorithms focused on risk mitigation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields.
• Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency with at least one ML framework: TensorFlow, PyTorch, or MXNet, including model training and deployment.
• Advanced programming skills in Python, Java, or C/C++.

Preferred Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Background in natural language processing, graph mining, or fraud detection.
• Knowledge of credit risk, payment risk, or recommendation/search systems.
• Recognition such as CCF A/B papers or competition awards is advantageous.
