About the Role
The Lot Associate plays a key role in enhancing customer experiences by efficiently loading customer purchases into vehicles and keeping the parking lot safe and inviting. Acting as often the first and last point of contact for customers, this role emphasizes excellent customer service through the Home Depot GET Model: Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service by welcoming and engaging customers and assisting with their projects.
- Maintain an adequate supply of shopping carts near store entrances for customer convenience.
- Engage customers with open-ended questions to understand their project needs and expertise level.
- Assist customers with loading and securing their purchases safely using trained methods.
- Ensure clear and unobstructed exits and loading zones; keep areas clean of debris.
- Adhere strictly to Safety and Loss Prevention protocols, using proper safety practices with all equipment.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively assist customers.
- Organizational skills ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
- Attention to detail when handling merchandise and maintaining safety standards.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Work in a warehouse setting that may be dusty, noisy, and subject to temperature fluctuations due to frequent open doors.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions as part of loading and unloading duty.
- Physical tasks such as bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
Additional Information
- Reports to the Front End Supervisor.
- No travel is required for this position.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years retail experience preferred.
