Loss Prevention Supervisor

Overview

The Loss Prevention Supervisor at Courtyard by Marriott in Nizwa, Oman, plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of the property, guests, and employees. This position involves patrolling the premises, securing rooms, monitoring security systems, and assisting guests during emergencies, among other responsibilities.

Key Duties

• Monitor all property areas through patrols and secure access to rooms.
• Conduct emergency response drills and perform daily inspections for physical hazards and safety compliance.
• Investigate incidents, conduct interviews, and perform audits on key controls.
• Supervise and observe Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTV) and alarm systems.
• Authorize and log access to secured zones within the property.
• Assist guests and staff during emergency situations, providing first aid/CPR or contacting EMS as necessary.
• Compile and maintain confidential reports and only release information to authorized personnel.
• Manage disturbances and safety hazards per company policies, including escorting unauthorized individuals from the premises.
• Ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage control laws.
• Coordinate with employees using proper communications codes and complete required paperwork.
• Support management in staff training, motivation, and coaching, acting as a positive role model and a primary contact for fair treatment policies.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, report unsafe conditions or incidents, complete safety certification requirements, and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Maintain high standards of guest interaction, anticipating service needs and expressing genuine appreciation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in person and through documentation and telephone etiquette.
• Develop and nurture cooperative working relationships with colleagues to meet shared objectives.
• Ensure quality expectations and standards are consistently achieved.
• Physically capable of performing job tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance, navigating various physical environments, and using fine motor skills as required.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in loss prevention or security.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific licenses or certifications required.
