Overview
This role blends steady warehouse operations with the excitement of long-distance transport journeys across Australia. Based in Alice Springs, you will primarily contribute to warehouse and logistics activities, managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials that support operational needs. Teamwork and adherence to safety are key as you handle inventory, freight handling, and vehicle loading/unloading.
On occasions requiring long-haul transport, you will switch from the warehouse environment to the open road, partnering with another driver to complete round trips in a modern heavy combination truck across Australia.

Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Logistics
- Receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching freight to facilitate smooth material movement
- Safe operation of forklifts and other equipment for loading and unloading trucks
- Organizing warehouse stock and maintaining accurate inventory records
- Performing stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory-related activities
- Proper preparation of freight for transport, ensuring secure packaging, labeling, and load stability
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse environment
- Completing all necessary warehouse documentation accurately
- Following safety protocols and supporting a safe workplace for the team
Long-Haul Driving
- Conducting scheduled long-haul journeys as part of a two-driver team
- Operating manual transmission heavy combination trucks safely and professionally
- Inspecting vehicles daily and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
- Securing freight appropriately and ensuring safe transport
- Maintaining accurate driver logbooks, trip paperwork, and transport records
- Adhering to fatigue management, road transport regulations, and company safety standards
Other Duties
Perform any additional reasonable tasks as required.
Required Skills and Certifications
Essential
- Possession of Australian Heavy Combination (HC) truck license or US Class A Commercial Driver’s License with at least two years’ experience
- Competence driving manual transmission prime movers
- Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office, email, and record-keeping
Preferred
- Qualifications or vocational training in logistics or supply chain management
- Experience with warehouse management systems or similar software
- Forklift license
- First Aid and CPR certification
- White Card for construction safety
Experience
- At least 6 months’ relevant experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations
- Minimum two years’ experience driving Class A CDL vehicles (US candidates)
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work mostly takes place in temperature-controlled warehouse spaces
- Frequent forklift and warehouse machinery use
- Long-haul trips involve extended driving hours and overnight stays
- Exposure to outdoor and remote environments, including extreme heat and variable weather
- Ability to lift up to 25 kilograms independently
- Endurance to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
- Capability to safely operate material handling equipment and handle heavy loads
Security and Compliance
- Must obtain and maintain a Department of Defence Top Secret clearance (Australia) or TS/SSCI with polygraph (US)
- Must be at least 18 years old and fluent in English
- Subject to pre-employment background, referee, medical, and drug checks
