Job description
General Overview
This position involves managing the loading, dispatch, offloading, and handover processes of assigned flights to cabin crew according to customer requirements, Galley Loading Plans, and food safety standards. Responsibilities include proper handling of catering items, equipment, bonded stores, and duty-free goods while adhering to stipulated timelines and operational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute loading and offloading tasks for allocated flights following airline specifications, Galley Loading Plans (GLP), and food safety regulations.
- Initiate economy service handover procedures to cabin crew onboard until the full handover by the team leader or agent is completed, as required operationally.
- Handle loading and offloading for Crew Training flights, Amiri flights, Charter flights, and VIP flights when necessary.
- Maintain compliance with ramp safety protocols and manage marshalling of high loaders during airside duties.
- Place safety chocks and cones appropriately after aligning high loaders with aircraft.
- Guide junior staff to ensure adherence to all established loading procedures.
- Provide timely updates to the Ramp Duty Supervisor to facilitate immediate action or decision-making.
- Coordinate with senior management and other relevant personnel both inside and outside the organization during emergencies.
- Support management based on operational requirements.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma.
- At least 2 years’ relevant work experience.
- Prior experience in flight catering, particularly in flight preparation, loading, and offloading, preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and writing skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and perform efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and airside safety regulations.
- Understanding of menu specifications, load matrices, and menu cycles is advantageous.
