Job description
Overview
As a Loading Assistant II at Qatar Aircraft Catering Company, you will be entrusted with handling the loading, offloading, dispatch, and handover operations for flights in accordance with customer specifications, the Galley Loading Plan (GLP), and Food Safety Standards. This role also entails managing Catering, Equipment, Bonded Stores, and Duty-Free items to ensure accurate loading and offloading within designated time frames.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform loading and offloading of flights as specified by Airline Standards, GLP, and Food Safety regulations.
- Initiate economy service handovers to Cabin Crew until the arrival of team leaders or agents for full handover processing.
- Manage loading and offloading for Crew Training, Amiri, Charter, and VIP flights as required by operational demands.
- Observe ramp safety protocols and marshal High Loaders while working airside.
- Secure aircraft by placing safety chocks and cones following High Loader alignment.
- Guide junior team members to adhere strictly to operational procedures.
- Provide timely updates to Ramp Duty Supervisors for immediate interventions when necessary.
- Collaborate with senior personnel inside and outside the organization in emergency situations.
- Support management to meet operational requirements effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- At least two years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Preferred Expertise
- Prior experience in flight catering service, particularly in loading and offloading processes.
- Proficient reading and writing abilities.
- Flexible work hours and resilience under pressure.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with Food Safety and Airside Safety standards.
- Understanding of Menu Specifications, Load Matrix, and Menu Cycles.
