Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Liquidity Manager to oversee the quality of liquidity during the London trading session for a prominent electronic FX trading venue. This position involves a hybrid role combining eFX trading, quantitative analysis, and institutional client management, ensuring live liquidity is diagnosed and optimized effectively.
Key Duties
- Maintain ownership of liquidity quality throughout the London trading hours by actively monitoring real-time pricing, spread stability, fill and reject patterns, and latency amongst liquidity providers.
- Identify and troubleshoot live liquidity issues, differentiating between causes linked to providers, trading venues, routing mechanisms, or connectivity.
- Create and sustain detailed performance analytics using Python and SQL through raw trade and quote data.
- Evaluate key metrics like markouts, fill/reject rates, net yield, toxicity, and profit & loss attribution at both liquidity provider and client levels.
- Collaborate directly with liquidity providers to discuss pricing quality, spread behavior, execution performance, and last-look procedures.
- Assist in liquidity-provider admissions, tiering, and remediation processes based on data-driven insights.
- Partner with institutional clients and Sales teams to address liquidity and execution quality matters.
- Ensure proper session handovers and enrich internal documentation and knowledge bases.
- Escalate liquidity and execution concerns in line with pre-established thresholds and market conditions.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in eFX liquidity management, liquidity-provider relationship management, eFX trading, or quantitative support roles within FX environments.
- Prior work experience at FX venues, ECNs, aggregators, bank-based eFX desks, or non-bank market makers is highly valuable.
- A strong grasp of FX market microstructure including aggregation, last look, sweep and routing logics, liquidity provider configurations, and markout measurement techniques.
- Proven ability in Python and SQL programming applied to market, execution, and pricing datasets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with independent investigatory skills and sound decision-making capacity.
- End-to-end task management with prudent judgment and timely escalation of issues.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate liquidity and execution insights clearly.
- Comfortable working independently during evening hours covering multiple time zones, with willingness to consider future relocation to London based on business needs and eligibility.
Additional Desirable Skills
- Experience working on platform or venue sides instead of solely within banks.
- Technical knowledge of FIX protocol connectivity.
- Understanding the impact of LD4 and NY4 infrastructure and FX latency challenges.
- Exposure to unsocial working hours overlapping global trading sessions.
- Familiarity with FX Global Code, transaction cost analysis (TCA), and execution quality reporting methodologies.
Working Conditions & Location
- Standard working hours approximating 15:00 to 00:00 Singapore Time, Monday through Friday, covering London open to New York overlap.
- Hybrid work environment with the ability to perform part of the role remotely.
- Opportunity to relocate permanently to London in the future subject to performance, business requirements, and immigration criteria.
- Transport accommodations for late finishing hours while based in Singapore.
