About the Role
This position involves managing and ensuring the availability of Linux servers in alignment with client service level agreements (SLAs). The role requires expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), OpenShift platforms, server builds, and logical volume management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain server uptime by performing regular monitoring and performance tracking.
- Configure NFS and FTP servers, manage user accounts, roles, and ensure secure access control.
- Handle logical volume and disk management to optimize storage utilization.
- Diagnose and resolve application outages following change management protocols.
- Facilitate server and data migration along with file transfers as needed.
- Perform restoration of root and other critical file systems in cases of corruption.
- Schedule and automate jobs and processes to improve efficiency.
- Create and configure Linux virtual machines on virtualization platforms.
- Work with OpenShift clusters and collaborate with related operational teams such as Linux, Windows, Backup, and Application Development groups.
- Manage patching and firmware upgrades for physical servers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and problems as part of incident and problem management practices.
- Oversee server commissioning and decommissioning activities.
- Coordinate with Storage, Networking, Backup, and Security teams to ensure overall infrastructure health.
- Generate and submit routine and ad hoc reports to business partners and management.
- Liaise with business partners, vendors, and development teams to address issues and fulfill service requests.
Eligibility & Education
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in any field. Candidates with a Master of Technology (M.Tech) or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) are also considered.
Experience Requirements
The role demands 4 to 10 years of professional experience in Linux server administration and related technologies.

Bachelor's Degree
