Role Overview

The Lifting Supervisor will be responsible for the comprehensive management of lifting activities at project locations to guarantee safety, efficiency, and adherence to appropriate codes and procedures. This on-site, full-time role in Doha involves planning and coordinating lifting tasks, inspecting equipment, and ensuring cranes and lifting tools are suitable and certified for their intended use. The supervisor will prepare and evaluate lifting strategies, conduct risk analyses, and brief teams on safe methods and site hazards. Daily duties include supervising lifts, communicating with site leadership, contractors, and equipment operators, and halting operations if unsafe conditions arise. Additional responsibilities involve recordkeeping, aiding incident analysis, and driving ongoing improvements in lifting practices and safety culture.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Proven background in overseeing lifting operations on construction, industrial, or energy projects, with strong familiarity with crane and rigging techniques.
• Skilled in drafting and assessing lifting plans, risk evaluations, and method statements for both routine and critical lifts.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international and local safety laws, codes, and best practices regarding lifting and hoisting.
• Competence in inspecting and validating lifting equipment certifications, load charts, maintenance records, and spotting unsafe conditions or compliance breaches.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities for effective collaboration with crane operators, riggers, engineers, and site managers.
• Relevant technical certification in lifting supervision, rigging, or crane operation, such as recognized Lifting Supervisor or Rigging Supervisor qualifications.
• Experience in conducting toolbox talks, safety briefings, promoting safe working practices, and supporting incident investigation and reporting.
• Basic computer literacy for record maintenance and report preparation; familiarity with construction or industrial environments is beneficial.
