Role Overview

The position calls for a full-time Lift Technician stationed onsite in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Responsibilities include the installation, inspection, upkeep, and repair of elevators, escalators, and related lift mechanisms within commercial and industrial environments. Daily duties cover executing routine preventive maintenance, diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical faults, replacement or adjustment of parts, and adherence to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines. The role further requires documenting all service operations, compiling maintenance reports, collaborating closely with project engineers and supervisors, and responding promptly to emergency and breakdown situations. Teamwork and maintaining superior service quality for clients are key aspects.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Extensive expertise in maintaining and repairing elevator and lift systems.
• Skilled in quickly diagnosing mechanical and electrical elevator issues safely.
• Strong knowledge of electrical principles as they apply to elevators and building power systems.
• Understanding of elevator components, control and safety systems, and relevant codes and standards.
• Possession of a technical certificate or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.
• Prior work experience in lift or elevator technician roles, field service, or related building services.
• Competent in interpreting manuals, wiring schematics, and engineering plans.
• High attention to detail, safety focused, capable of working at heights and tight spaces.
• Good communication skills, able to work independently and as part of a diverse technical team.
• Available to work flexible schedules including weekends or evenings as required to handle maintenance and emergencies.
