Lifeguard

Overview

Palma Beach Resort & Spa seeks a vigilant and professional Lifeguard dedicated to safeguarding guests at the resort's swimming pools and beach areas. The role requires constant monitoring, swift emergency response, and fostering a secure yet welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.

Key Duties

• Continuously supervise swimming pools, beach areas, and designated recreational facilities.
• Enforce safety protocols and resort rules to protect guest wellbeing.
• Identify potential hazards or unsafe behaviour promptly and take necessary action.
• React efficiently to emergencies, accidents, and water-related incidents by administering rescues and first aid.
• Regularly assess pool and surrounding areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
• Report incidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or facility maintenance needs to relevant personnel.
• Provide safety guidance and clear instructions to guests upon request.
• Ensure availability and readiness of lifesaving, rescue, and first-aid equipment.
• Document incidents, inspections, and maintain detailed reports.
• Collaborate with Recreation, Security, Front Office, and other departments during emergencies.
• Adhere to all resort policies, health/safety guidelines, and local UAE regulations.
• Exhibit professionalism and courteous behaviour towards guests and team members.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

Requirements

• Possession of valid Lifeguard Certification.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Prior lifeguarding experience, ideally within hotels, resorts, pools, or beaches.
• Proficient swimming and water rescue techniques.
• Strong grasp of pool and beach safety procedures.
• Maintains composure and effective response capability in emergency situations.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal competence.
• Physical fitness for prolonged outdoor work periods.
• Customer-focused with a professional, approachable demeanor.
• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a luxury hotel or beach resort setting.
• Familiarity with basic pool safety and water quality maintenance.
• Prior work experience in the UAE is considered beneficial.
• Additional certifications in swimming or water safety are advantageous.
