Licensed Paralegal

About the Role

We are seeking a licensed paralegal with substantial experience in landlord-tenant board (LTB) matters to manage a high volume of files effectively and provide expert representation to landlords. This role requires handling LTB applications, hearings, mediations, and settlements while ensuring compliance with all legal procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 20 to 30 new Landlord and Tenant Board cases monthly from initiation to resolution.
• Actively represent landlords in LTB applications, hearings, mediations, and settlement discussions.
• Draft and prepare all necessary legal documents including notices, applications, and evidential materials.
• Manage cases from client intake through enforcement of board decisions.
• Provide expert advice to clients regarding the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) and LTB procedural requirements.
• Maintain thorough and organized case files, ensuring adherence to all procedural deadlines.

Requirements

• Minimum of four to five years of direct, practical experience working with the LTB.
• Certification as a licensed paralegal specializing in LTB matters.
• Proven knowledge of landlord-focused LTB processes and the Residential Tenancies Act.
• Excellent skills in advocacy, negotiation, clear communication, and organization.
• Ability to efficiently manage a fast-paced, high-volume workload.
