Licensed Aircraft Engineer - Line Maintenance (B1)

About the Role

We are seeking Licensed Aircraft Engineers (B1) to join our Line Maintenance – Technical Engineering team based in Doha. The role focuses on conducting aircraft maintenance to support flight operation checks and related duties within authorized limits to ensure safe and efficient aircraft operation.

Responsibilities

• Effectively plan and perform assigned maintenance tasks, utilizing appropriate equipment and tools as per company and customer procedures.
• Review existing work procedures and standards, suggesting improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Authorize completed work, ensuring all activities meet company and customer quality standards including dispatch reliability and defect management.
• Maintain compliance with all maintenance policies, ensuring aircraft readiness and adherence to scheduled maintenance requirements.
• Provide comprehensive support to both internal teams and external customers as needed.
• Resolve technical issues within authorized capacity, maintaining aircraft and component serviceability to meet schedule demands.

• Supervise mechanics and technical assistants ensuring tasks are conducted to standards and objectives are met timely.
• Offer on-the-job training and guidance to subordinates to enhance their skills.
• Set and communicate team objectives aligned with business goals; periodically assess and adjust plans and procedures.
• Ensure all team members comply with technical and safety regulations outlined in manuals and procedures.
• Allocate tasks and resources efficiently to meet maintenance schedules and achieve operational targets.
• Monitor workmanship quality and proper tool usage during supervised tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification of High School/Vocational/Diploma with at least 5 years relevant work experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 4 years related experience.
• Diploma or Degree in Aircraft Maintenance or Aviation Engineering field, or equivalent qualification.
• Must hold at least one full ICAO/QCAA license for Qatar Airways main fleet with requisite approvals.
• Ability to identify required tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Proficient in applying mathematics for problem solving.
• Skillful in operating and controlling maintenance equipment and systems.
• Strong managerial competence including delegation, workflow management, mentoring, coaching and team leadership.
