Senior Manager Procurement

Overview

As the Senior Manager Procurement at Qatar Airways, you will oversee the Technical Strategic Procurement Department. Your leadership will be critical in advancing strategic sourcing projects, managing request for proposal (RFP) processes, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation. You will focus on operational excellence, cost control, risk mitigation, and delivering value by engaging stakeholders and implementing long-term procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the Procurement Team to ensure alignment with operational strategies and business growth goals.
• Formulate and implement sourcing approaches that promote cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service.
• Design and adopt industry-leading procurement operating frameworks and processes across departments.
• Provide insightful analysis based on data to enhance procurement and contract management functions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of aviation-related technical certification standards and compliance requirements.
• Direct the end-to-end procurement lifecycle and contracting for major technical and capital projects.
• Drive contract negotiations and oversee supplier performance monitoring.
• Maintain strict adherence to all applicable regulations and company governance policies.
• Collaborate across functions with internal teams, technical experts, and finance departments to align sourcing with operational demands.
• Coach and develop the procurement team to achieve excellence in service delivery, reporting, and compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement workflows and systems for greater efficiency.
• Lead the introduction of risk management and internal control frameworks to minimize procurement risks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of procurement experience, including a minimum of 5 years in aviation procurement dealing with technical sourcing.
• Proven expertise managing procurement activities for complex technical projects and contract operations.
• Strong commercial and financial understanding, particularly in whole life cost modeling.
• Experience in project and change management as well as optimizing procurement processes.
• Extensive knowledge of procurement and contract management principles.
• Familiarity with aviation procurement practices involving Supplier Furnished Equipment (SFE) and Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE).
• Financial analysis skills related to whole life costing.
• Proficient contract negotiation capabilities.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance, including Supplemental Type Certificates (STC), Service Bulletins (SB), and European Union regulations (EUU).
