Licensed Aircraft Engineer - B1 - Light Maintenance

About the Role

We are recruiting a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B1) specializing in Light Maintenance within Technical Engineering in Doha. In this role, you will conduct aircraft maintenance duties to support flight operations, ensuring tasks are performed within your authorized scope. Your expertise will contribute directly to safe, efficient, and effective maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and execute assigned maintenance activities efficiently, using appropriate equipment and tools aligned with Qatar Airways and customer procedures.
• Assess existing work procedures and standards, recommending enhancements to optimize work processes.
• Authorize completion of maintenance work, ensuring compliance with company/customer standards, dispatch reliability, and acceptable deferred defect levels.
• Maintain maintenance tasks in accordance with established policies and ensure delivery standards for Qatar Airways and customer products are achieved.
• Provide excellent support to both internal teams and external customers.
• Resolve technical issues within your authority to guarantee aircraft or component serviceability aligned with scheduling requirements.
• Supervise mechanics and technical assistants, monitoring that work meets procedural, quality, and safety standards and objectives.
• Offer guidance and on-the-job training to technicians and aircraft mechanics reporting to you.
• Set objectives and priorities for your team that align with the broader business goals.
• Review and update team objectives, plans, and procedures regularly as needed.
• Ensure immediate team members comply with technical and safety regulations as defined in manuals and customer procedures.
• Allocate staff priorities effectively to optimize resource utilization and meet scheduled tasks.
• When overseeing others' work, ensure workmanship standards, quality, and proper tool use are maintained.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent qualification, coupled with at least 4 years of related work experience.
• Hold a diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, a trade or vocational aircraft maintenance certification, or a degree such as B.Eng. or BSc in aircraft engineering.
• Hold a minimum of one full Qatar Airways main fleet ICAO/QCAA license (mandatory).
• Internal applicants must have at least 1 year of job-related aircraft certifying experience as EN.01.
• Solid understanding of air legislation.
• Ability to identify and select appropriate tools and equipment for tasks.
• Proficient in applying mathematics to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Skilled in operating and managing equipment and systems.
• Strong managerial capabilities including delegation, workflow management, mentoring, coaching, training, and fostering teamwork.
