Job description
Position Overview
This full-time, fixed term (2-year) role at Curtin University's Bentley Campus invites an enthusiastic Librarian to join the Research Services team. The successful candidate will provide expert research support and training to staff and postgraduate research students, contributing to the University's institution-wide Persistent Identifier (PID) strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment and adoption of PIDs that uniquely identify researchers (ORCID), organizations (ROR), research projects (RAiD), and research outputs such as publications, datasets, and equipment (DOI).
- Plan and execute promotional activities and outreach campaigns to encourage PID usage within the research community.
- Create accessible, practical guidance on best practices for PID integration tailored to the University's researchers.
- Facilitate training sessions and provide drop-in assistance for higher degree research students and research support personnel.
- Generate reports on PID uptake and coverage for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed documentation of workflows, procedures, and quality standards to ensure process continuity and sustainability.
- Participate actively in Library initiatives, contribute to team and project planning, and collaborate with diverse workgroups.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possession of a recognized professional librarianship qualification enabling associate membership with the Australian Library and Information Association, along with relevant work experience.
- High level of attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience with interpreting and applying technical and procedural documentation; contributions toward creating and refining process and support documents.
- Proven teamwork skills with effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to rapidly learn new systems, adjust to evolving workflows, and be adaptable in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication capabilities, both verbal and written, suitable for diverse audiences.
- Effective time management skills with capability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and handle competing responsibilities.
- A proactive, innovative approach emphasizing solution-focused problem-solving.
- Must possess current Australian work rights valid for the duration of the contract.
- Appointment conditional upon satisfactory National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks.

Compensation and Benefits
This G06 level position offers an annual salary between $99,213 and $105,251 AUD plus 17% superannuation. The Bentley campus, located on Whadjuk Nyungar Country, features amenities including an art gallery, gym, childcare, medical centre, public transport, parking, and various food outlets including a supermarket.
