Letter Carrier - Delivery Agent (Permanent)

Overview

Join Canada Post as a dedicated Delivery Agent, also known as a Letter Carrier, fulfilling a vital role in your community by ensuring mail and packages reach customers and businesses reliably. This full-time, permanent position is based in Val-d'Or, Quebec, requiring delivery services in all seasons and weather conditions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Begin the workday at the depot by organizing and preparing deliveries.
• Operate and load a postal vehicle for mail distribution.
• Spend substantial time outdoors delivering mail and parcels on foot or using the postal vehicle to assigned routes.
• Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and packages for future deliveries.

Required Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Class 5 or Class G driver's license with a clean driving record for a minimum of 3 years (driver’s abstract mandatory).
• Physical capability to lift mail weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lbs) consistently throughout the day.
• Ability to perform duties in a variety of weather conditions.

Additional Preferred Experience

• Background in customer service roles.
• Prior experience in delivery or professional driving.

Work Conditions and Schedule

• Standard schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., totaling 40 hours per week.

Compensation and Training

• Hourly wage of $25.37.
• Comprehensive classroom instruction and hands-on training focusing on job duties and safety standards.
