Lecturer in Construction Management

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Construction Management to join our academic team in partnership with Bath Spa University, located in London (Greenford or Stratford). This is a full-time permanent position requiring 40 hours per week. The role involves educating and inspiring students to develop essential expertise and knowledge demanded by today's construction industry, within its legal, environmental, and technological frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging teaching sessions, digital materials, and personalized support to help students grasp key construction management concepts, including measurement, building appraisal, project performance, and more.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback, clarifying assessment criteria, and encouraging independent learning through online resources and research activities.
• Continuously evaluate and refine teaching approaches to enhance educational quality and enrich the overall student experience.
• Adapt to flexible teaching schedules that may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends as per delivery requirements.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a Master's degree in a relevant discipline; a PhD is preferred.
• Prior lecturing experience in UK higher education within construction management or a related field, demonstrating thorough subject matter knowledge.
• Proven ability to supervise student work and deliver personalized academic support and feedback.
• Experienced in teaching adult learners with diverse backgrounds on similar HE programs.
• Skilled in detailed reporting and maintaining comprehensive student records.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Preferred qualifications include a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent, or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or international equivalent; willingness to pursue these qualifications during probation if not already attained.
