About the Role
Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Learning and Development Manager to lead their L&D Centre of Excellence based in Visakhapatnam. This position is a vital individual contributor role responsible for advancing workforce capabilities by driving the capability-building initiatives across multiple manufacturing locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement an annual learning and development strategy aligned with business and manufacturing goals.
- Coordinate the annual Training Needs Identification (TNI/TNA) process for plants and corporate functions to develop and manage the learning calendar.
- Create and maintain technical competency frameworks tailored to essential manufacturing positions and collaborate with plant leadership to address skill shortages.
- Lead diverse capability-building programs that encompass technical, functional, behavioral, leadership, and management skills development.
- Oversee learning paths for engineer trainees and high-potential employees, facilitating succession planning, mentoring, coaching, and internal faculty advancement.
- Champion the implementation and adoption of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools, providing learning analytics and insights to senior leadership.
- Develop metrics and frameworks to evaluate learning effectiveness, business outcomes, and return on investment (ROI), and deliver regular reports to management.
- Manage relationships with external training vendors, ensuring compliance, quality control, and effective budget utilization.
Qualifications and Experience
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or a comparable discipline; an Engineering Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
- 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in HR and L&D, predominantly within manufacturing sectors.
- At least 5 years dedicated to Learning & Development, Talent Development, or Organizational Development roles.
- Proven experience designing and deploying extensive learning programs successfully.
- Expertise in competency frameworks, leadership development initiatives, digital learning platforms, and analyzing learning data.
