Job description

Overview

We are looking for a Lead/Senior Mapping and Localization Engineer to create and deploy robust spatial estimation solutions for our autonomous cleaning robot fleet operating in dynamic indoor settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop sensor fusion-based 2D and 3D mapping systems, including capabilities for map merging and continuous map updates.
  • Develop reliable real-time localization algorithms to support sustained autonomous robot operations.
  • Optimize mapping and localization algorithms for ARM-based embedded platforms ensuring real-time performance.
  • Lead technical design discussions and provide mentorship to junior engineers, promoting adoption of best software practices such as Modern C++ and ROS2.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in robotics with a focus on Mapping and Localization.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following domains: 2D/3D LiDAR-based or Vision-based (Monocular, Stereo, or RGB-D) mapping and localization.
  • Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, and non-linear optimization techniques.
  • Advanced command of Modern C++ standards (C++14/17/20).
  • Extensive experience working with ROS and ROS2 frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation scripting.
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle challenging scenarios such as transparent surfaces, featureless corridors, and highly dynamic environments to maintain robust system functionality.
