Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a skilled Leading Hand Fitter to integrate with our Customer Support team at the Curragh Mine site in Blackwater, Queensland. This technical leadership role involves providing expert guidance and support for maintenance activities related to Komatsu machinery directly on the customer site. Demonstrating a hands-on approach, this position requires the ability to work independently while effectively communicating with customers and site teams, along with supervisory responsibilities when necessary.

Work Schedule and Location

The role operates on a roster of 7 days on/7 days off with 12.25-hour shifts encompassing both days and nights. The workplace is located onsite at Curragh Mine, Blackwater, Queensland.

• Annual remuneration of $203,025 plus superannuation and a tool allowance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and maintenance support for Komatsu machines at the customer’s site.
• Lead and supervise the team effectively while ensuring adherence to strict safety and quality requirements.
• Identify maintenance risks and improvement opportunities in operations.
• Work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and operational performance.
• Maintain compliance with company standards and environmental policies.

Qualifications and Essential Criteria

• Trade certification in High Voltage Electrical and/or Mechanical disciplines.
• Proven experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory capacity within a mining environment.
• Strong familiarity with Komatsu equipment and operational knowledge of 930E trucks, D475 Dozers, and PC7000 excavators is beneficial.
• Competent in utilizing Komatsu maintenance and parts manuals, including schematic diagrams.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and environmental standards.
• Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with customers, Komatsu staff, and site personnel.
• Leadership ability focused on team safety and efficiency.
• Positive, collaborative mindset with dedication to ongoing process improvement.
• Must hold a current Driver’s Licence.
