Lead Veterinarian - Kew & Alphington

About the Role

We are offering a unique opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to assume the role of Lead Veterinarian across our well-established clinics at Kew Vet & Cattery and Alphington & Fairfield Vet in Melbourne's Inner East. This dual position involves leadership and clinical practice in two interconnected, community-oriented veterinary clinics.

The clinics boast a purpose-built, tranquil cattery space upstairs designed specifically for feline care. Operated under the Hawthorn Group umbrella, these clinics provide a collaborative environment with two sister clinics, supporting professional growth through constant case collaboration and a breadth of expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a passionate, committed veterinary team while maintaining excellent standards of veterinary care.
• Support and mentor colleagues to foster their professional growth and clinical abilities.
• Drive clinical excellence and implement continuous improvements within the clinics.
• Collaborate with clinic managers and regional leadership to ensure effective, unified teamwork and management.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated strong general practice clinical and surgical skills, confident handling a wide variety of cases.
• Experience or willingness to develop leadership capabilities and support team members’ growth.
• Commitment to exceptional patient care and client relations.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team-oriented culture.
• While prior leadership experience is preferred, experienced Senior Veterinarians eager to progress into leadership roles are encouraged to apply.
