Full Time General Practice Veterinarian

About the Role

Kingston Veterinary Hospital, a thriving small animal clinic in Mentone, Melbourne, is seeking a dedicated veterinarian to join their well-established team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in high-quality patient care with the added advantage of leadership support from an experienced Lead Vet who is highly skilled in advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, including TPLO procedures, as well as ultrasonography. The Lead Vet brings over 40 years of veterinary experience, providing a rich learning environment. You'll collaborate with a supportive team and an outstanding Practice Manager to foster a positive and smooth-running clinic culture.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage a balanced workload that includes consultations, surgeries, diagnostics, and case management aligned with your clinical interests and team needs.
• Handle a broad spectrum of medical and surgical cases, including orthopaedic procedures.
• Participate in daily case rounds to review complex cases, share knowledge, and collaborate with peers.
• Attend fortnightly veterinarian meetings aimed at clinical development and team coordination.
• Benefit from working with a highly experienced and collaborative team focused on collective success.
• Enjoy no after-hours or Sunday work; Saturday shifts are rotated with colleagues approximately once every 3-4 weeks, and these are short shifts rather than full days, supporting genuine work-life balance.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a BVSc degree or an equivalent qualification.
• Eligibility for veterinary registration within Victoria.
• Minimum of two years' professional experience in small animal veterinary practice.
• Strong communication skills and aptitude to develop lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
