About the Role
Mphasis is seeking an experienced Lead Service Test Automation Engineer or Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, develop, and scale automated test solutions targeting service, API, and web layers. This senior technical role demands deep expertise in modern automation frameworks, behavioral and test-driven development methods, as well as strong integration with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring robust, high-quality test coverage in fast-paced delivery settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks across multiple application layers including service, API, and web.
- Apply and promote BDD (Behavior Driven Development) and TDD (Test Driven Development) methodologies in test automation practices.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration and deployment.
- Develop reliable test scripts for API testing using REST clients and HTTP-based automation.
- Architect test strategies focusing on test design quality, data-driven testing approaches, and maintainable automation structures.
Experience and Technical Skills
- Extensive hands-on development in C# and .NET testing frameworks.
- Proficiency with BDD frameworks such as SpecFlow, Cucumber, or Reqnroll to create expressive automated tests.
- Experience using test runners like NUnit, xUnit, and MSTest to execute and manage test suites.
- Strong background in API testing leveraging REST clients and HTTP protocols for automation.
- Skillful integration of automated test suites into Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable CI/CD solutions.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud services, SQL databases, and service-based application ecosystems is advantageous.
