The Lead Software Engineer, Lead Architect for Open Finance is key to Mastercard’s vision of enabling secure, user-controlled financial data sharing. Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy resilient and scalable Open Banking services that facilitate next-gen financial experiences.
• Participate hands-on in coding, conducting architecture reviews, and design meetings to uphold high technical standards.
• Collaborate closely with product and business teams to define critical initiatives and deliver solutions aligned with strategic goals.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers and tech leads via coaching, code evaluation, and architecture advice.
• Make careful decisions balancing speed, scalability, and sustainability to effectively solve problems.
• Reduce complexity and optimize costs in architectural decisions for long-term benefits.
• Promote a proactive, creative culture with a bias for action and continuous improvement.
• Work cross-functionally to identify reusable components, dismantle organizational silos, and align architecture across the enterprise.
• Lead by example with strong technical expertise and execution focus.

Candidate Profile and Skills

• Minimum of 8 years in software engineering and architecture, experienced in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservice architectures.
• Practical experience building secure and scalable cloud-based systems on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Solid understanding of secure software development, including cryptography, encryption techniques, and secure communication methods.
• Proficient in secure coding standards and vulnerability management using frameworks like OWASP and CWE across languages such as Java, C#, Python, and Node.js.
• Proven track record leading technical projects in high-pressure financial services environments, with comprehensive knowledge of compliance and regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills adept at influencing, resolving conflicts, and aligning diverse teams.
• Creative analytical thinker committed to continuous advancement and managing complex technical challenges.
• Strong ownership and leadership qualities, dedicated to producing impactful results and improving team performance.
• Experience mentoring software engineers, conducting interviews, and building strong development teams.
