Role Overview

In the Lead Software Engineer role, you will architect, develop, and expand high-efficiency backend systems and cloud-native platforms primarily utilizing Golang and the latest distributed systems technologies. The position involves engineering complex, data-intensive products that generate tangible value for enterprise clients. You will be responsible for building scalable APIs, distributed and event-driven services, durable data pipelines, and backend components that underpin AI-centric SaaS products. Additionally, you will play a key role in architectural decisions, system design optimizations, and advancing engineering standards across the platform.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead backend engineering projects and initiatives providing robust technical guidance.
• Take ownership of designing and architecting large-scale distributed systems.
• Develop and validate High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
• Balance scalability, security, reliability, and cost when making architecture decisions.
• Facilitate design and architecture reviews along with technical governance processes.
• Mentor engineers at varying levels to enhance their skills.
• Define and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and development guidelines.
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews to maintain high code quality.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to align technology delivery with business goals.
• Lead planning for technical roadmaps and technology adoption.
• Drive initiatives for performance improvements, reliability, and production readiness.
• Manage incident response, root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.
• Promote operational excellence through improved observability, monitoring, logging, and tracing mechanisms.
• Guide team efforts in capacity planning, resiliency strategies, and disaster recovery preparations.
• Support recruitment activities, including technical interviews and onboarding processes.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Expert proficiency in Go programming language (Golang).
• In-depth knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and comprehensive system design.
• Proven experience developing High-Level and Low-Level Design documents.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven designs.
• Expertise in concurrency, scalable, and fault-tolerant system designs.
• Experience with API design and integration including REST and gRPC.
• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, containerization, and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
• Solid background in observability practices including monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
• Excellent skills in mentoring, stakeholder engagement, and leading technical teams.
• Ability to influence and drive architectural and engineering excellence across multiple teams.
