Role Overview

As a Lead Full Stack Engineer (IC3) at Freshworks, you will lead the creation of robust backend systems and dynamic frontend applications designed to deliver excellent user experiences at scale. This role involves designing modular and straightforward full-stack architectures to replace complex legacy solutions, implementing AI features, and ensuring the platform can handle millions of transactions reliably.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend microservices, design optimized database schemas, and build interactive frontend interfaces.
• Take full ownership of product modules from requirements gathering through design, deployment, monitoring, and support.
• Produce clean, extensible, and testable code adhering to Object-Oriented Programming and SOLID principles.
• Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Site Reliability Engineers to swiftly translate product strategies into valuable platform features.
• Maintain backend and frontend infrastructure focused on high availability, fault tolerance, security compliance, and observability.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks across multiple layers, including database and client rendering issues.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and advocate for engineering best practices through code reviews and guidance.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Strong full-stack capabilities with deep knowledge of backend technologies such as REST APIs, microservices, and caching, alongside modern frontend frameworks.
• Solid foundation in computer science concepts, including data structures and algorithms, with an ability to evaluate trade-offs in time and space complexity.
• Expertise in system design, creating scalable, highly available, and multi-tenant fault-tolerant architectures.
• Experience in data modeling with relational and NoSQL databases, as well as distributed storage and queuing systems.
• Familiarity with AI tools, including experience integrating them to enhance technical workflows and user experiences.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex business problems and communicate technical solutions effectively.

Experience and Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of progressive software development experience in fast-moving product engineering environments.
• Proven record of shipping and maintaining enterprise-grade SaaS features at scale through multiple production releases.
• A proactive, agile-minded self-starter comfortable navigating ambiguity and balancing rapid feature development with codebase maintainability.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
