Role Overview

We seek a passionate React Native Lead Engineer with a product-focused mindset to design and implement scalable mobile solutions. You will oversee our iOS and Android app experiences using TypeScript and React Native, including development of native bridges. The role involves hands-on feature delivery, performance tuning, offline capability improvement, and shaping engineering processes. Qualities valued include curiosity, thoughtfulness, practicality, and strong ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of core React Native functionality, incorporating native modules and bridges when appropriate.
• Collaborate closely with design and product teams to deliver high-impact features swiftly, applying a strong product perspective.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools like Claude and Cursor to enhance code quality and development speed without sacrificing test coverage or readability.
• Optimize app performance fully, with deep understanding of the complex mobile product architecture.
• Develop robust offline-first user flows with graceful error management suited for challenging field conditions.
• Advance our mobile design system and user interface standards through code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring team members.

Candidate Profile

• Expertise in React Native with definitive views on mobile app architecture including navigation, state, and modular boundaries.
• Product-centric engineering approach prioritizing user outcomes and clean maintainable code.
• Experience shipping sophisticated React Native applications within cross-functional teams.
• Ability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments while demonstrating strong knowledge in performance optimization, accessibility, testing, and maintainability.
• Bonus skills include familiarity with CodePush, automated App Store releases at scale, design systems, and mentorship of mobile engineers.
• A degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
