Lead Quality Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Lead Quality Engineer with 12 to 15 years of experience to spearhead advanced quality engineering initiatives. This office-based daytime role requires no travel and centers on leveraging test automation and AI-driven validation tools to deliver resilient enterprise software that supports critical business functions and offers dependable customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Possess mandatory expertise in the Telecom domain.
• Devise and uphold robust test automation frameworks utilizing Java, Selenium, RestAssured, Cucumber, and TestNG to consistently validate intricate enterprise applications.
• Manage comprehensive functional, integration, and regression test cycles, overseeing planning, execution, and reporting to inform stakeholders about product quality and readiness for release.
• Bring deep knowledge of AI code assist tools, configuring and overseeing their use to expedite test script creation, minimize errors, and enhance automation maintainability.
• Employ context engineering methods to analyze business workflows, data dependencies, and user scenarios to develop intelligent test suites reflective of real-world operations for early defect detection.
• Create resilient API testing solutions with RestAssured featuring reusable components, data-driven tests, and validations ensuring service reliability, performance, and security.
• Implement behavior-driven testing using Cucumber, crafting clear scenarios aligned with business needs to foster transparent communication between technical and nontechnical team members.
• Improve test execution efficiency by optimizing TestNG settings, parallel test runs, and reporting, enabling reliable execution of large test sets within project deadlines.
• Monitor and enhance automation stability by analyzing failures, refining selectors, and updating test data to produce durable scripts resistant to product changes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to review requirements and design documents, clarifying acceptance criteria and enriching test coverage of features impacting business and customer outcomes.
• Deliver insightful quality assessments through detailed defect analysis and root cause identification to drive corrective actions and systemic process enhancements.
• Support continuous delivery by integrating automated tests into build pipelines and release workflows ensuring consistent enforcement of quality gates and prompt feedback.
• Contribute to the company’s mission to provide reliable digital experiences by ensuring all outputs meet stringent quality checks that minimize production issues and boost customer trust.
• Mentor team members on advanced quality engineering methodologies, tooling, and coding standards to elevate capabilities and promote scalable, sustainable automation practices.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in building and sustaining Java-based automation frameworks incorporating Selenium, RestAssured, Cucumber, and TestNG, covering web, API, and end-to-end tests with high reliability.
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI code assist tools for test code generation, refactoring, and validation while ensuring code quality, readability, and standard compliance.
• Applied knowledge of context engineering principles to translate business processes, data models, and user journeys into targeted test conditions maximizing defect discovery and reducing redundant effort.
• Strong background in Selenium-based UI testing implementing durable locators, modular page designs, and data handling approaches that maintain script stability amid interface changes.
• Advanced skills in RestAssured for designing thorough API validations including status verification, payload checks, schema compliance, and error scenario handling tailored to enterprise services.
• Competency in using Cucumber for behavior-driven development by authoring clear scenarios, step definitions, and reusable contexts aligning with business terminology to enhance stakeholder understanding.
• Experience in employing TestNG features—grouping, prioritization, and parallel execution—to manage extensive test suites for optimized execution times and detailed results analytics.
• Preferably experienced in billing and revenue management domain with knowledge of rating, invoicing, payment, and reconciliation processes to develop accurate test scenarios protecting financial correctness.
• Skilled in defect lifecycle management, documentation, and reporting tools ensuring traceability from requirements to testing artifacts supporting audit and continuous improvement.
• Ability to thrive in a work-from-office day shift setup, collaborating effectively with onsite teams and aligning testing activities with development and release schedules.
• Dedicated to fostering a quality-centric culture through participation in retrospectives, recommending process improvements, and promoting best practices that reduce defects and enhance software reliability.

Certifications
