Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to forming the architectural vision and detailed design of the Open Payments Platform ensuring it aligns with evolving business needs.
• Lead and make strategic decisions in platform architecture and engineering efforts under the guidance of the Principal Engineer.
• Drive improvements in reliability and operational excellence of the Payments Platform.
• Provide hands-on expertise to foster top-tier design implementation ensuring high performance, scalability, and robustness of payment systems.
• Mentor and support engineers to cultivate a culture of learning and mastery in software engineering practices.

Required Expertise and Skills

• Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale, high-performance payment systems that prioritize robustness and scalability.
• Expert hands-on proficiency in Java and Spring Boot (latest versions), alongside experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud.
• Practical knowledge of NoSQL databases and microservices architecture, including event-driven design and integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of building scalable, maintainable, and performant payment orchestration across multiple channels.
• Deep familiarity with security best practices relevant to financial transactions and payments.
• Ability to work collaboratively in team settings and lead complex engineering projects successfully.
• Skilled in driving architectural and design decisions across platforms.
• Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
