Job description
Overview
Wood is actively looking for a Quality Manager to join their projects segment, contributing expertise to the establishment of a new gold mine and processing plant located on a remote site within Saudi Arabia.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee all facets of quality management across the assigned organization and provided services.
- Engage regularly with critical stakeholders to foster quality management practices and collect performance feedback.
- Lead and support quality assurance teams, ensuring competency, conducting performance reviews, setting objectives, and sharing industry best practices.
- Allocate resources including personnel and budgets efficiently to meet set organizational goals.
- Implement and promote the Wood Business Management System (BMS), ensuring effective application, compliance monitoring, and continuous system enhancements; coordinate external BMS certification where applicable.
- Enforce consistent use of supporting quality frameworks such as Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), corrective actions, and lessons learned processes.
- Contribute to tender preparation and proposal activities for the group.
- Design and execute risk-based assurance schedules and report critical observations to senior leadership.
- Analyze and monitor delivery data, communicate trends and actions to leadership, and intervene as necessary.
- Drive initiatives aimed at increasing margin improvement.
- Assure quality standards are upheld throughout the supply chain to guarantee first-time compliant deliveries.
- Collect and act on customer satisfaction feedback to foster continuous enhancement.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Academic diploma or degree in Quality Management, Project Management, or related fields (mandatory).
- Certified Lead Auditor endorsement from an accredited industry organization (mandatory).
- Membership in quality-related professional bodies such as CQI, ASQ, or project management associations is advantageous.
- Formal instruction in recognized root cause analysis methodologies is necessary.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience, preferably within the mining or associated sectors.
- Thorough familiarity with quality standards and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Proven capability to cultivate and maintain effective client and stakeholder relations.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to lead and adapt in fast-paced and evolving workplace environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
