Lead Machine Learning Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to oversee and guide our Machine Learning Engineering and MLOps teams in Abu Dhabi. This leadership role involves deploying and managing machine learning models and agents, while promoting engineering excellence across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Machine Learning Engineers and MLOps Engineers, fostering career development, standardizing operational methodologies, and synchronizing project timelines.
• Design and execute the roadmap for the enterprise AI platform, enabling smooth progression from experimental modeling to large-scale automated production.
• Work closely with data science teams to convert models into reliable and scalable deployed solutions while managing resource distribution effectively.
• Partner with platform teams to create stringent ML quality assurance and release standards for all AI components, including protocols for rollbacks, shadow testing, canary releases, and automated validations.
• Implement comprehensive governance practices to ensure compliance, bias mitigation, explainability, audit trails, and security adherence within model operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• 8 to 12 years of active experience in software engineering, machine learning modeling, or MLOps, with a minimum of 3 years in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
• Demonstrated track record of scaling AI products from prototypes to robust, high-throughput production environments under regulatory constraints.
• Strong dual expertise in deep learning technologies—including large language models, agent-based frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation—and scalable systems design.
• Knowledge of security protocols and standards applicable to highly regulated sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory; a Master’s or PhD degree is preferred.
