Data Engineer

About the Role

We are collaborating with a prominent financial services company based in Abu Dhabi that is extensively enhancing its Data and AI capabilities. The organisation seeks a skilled Data Engineer to construct scalable data infrastructures and pipelines supporting sophisticated AI and machine learning solutions throughout the enterprise.

This is an operational engineering position involving close cooperation with AI, ML, and software engineering teams to guarantee dependable, high-quality data availability at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and fine-tune scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for processing and transforming both structured and unstructured data.
• Create dependable data architecture that supports large-scale AI, machine learning, and analytics workloads.
• Perform continuous testing, monitoring, and optimization of data pipelines to enhance performance, reliability, and data accuracy.
• Collaborate with AI, ML, and software engineering teams to facilitate easy access to quality data for downstream applications.
• Enforce robust data quality measures, validation protocols, governance, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation concerning data architecture, lineage, and metadata management.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Data Engineering, ETL development, data warehousing, or related roles.
• Proven hands-on experience managing ETL/ELT workflows with tools such as Airflow, dbt, Luigi, or comparable technologies.
• Strong programming capability in Python and SQL, with additional experience in Scala, Java, or other relevant languages.
• Practical exposure to big data architectures and optimization of extensive data pipelines.
• Experience working within cloud data environments like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Skilled in handling large-scale datasets, both structured and unstructured.
• Deep understanding of data quality assurance, governance, monitoring, and engineering best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve performance and data-related issues.
• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
