Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Java Developer to join our Agile and collaborative team. This role focuses on building robust, distributed, and enterprise-grade Java applications where performance is paramount. You will work alongside colleagues who manage different infrastructure layers, contributing to quality software through teamwork and advanced design practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the entire requirements lifecycle from broad product vision to detailed functional specifications, system integrations, and supporting business processes.
• Collaborate with planning teams to draft prototype designs for enterprise systems, identifying essential user features and integration methodologies to modernize legacy systems.
• Design and develop key modules of the enterprise system while mentoring junior developers who handle routine coding tasks.
• Oversee code testing and address defects to guarantee smooth deployment with expected functionality.
• Innovate client perceptions of coding and documentation by implementing new strategies focused on problem-solving and continuous enhancement.
• Extract and consolidate components and libraries across projects to encourage a stimulating and enjoyable development culture.
• Share expertise by scaling CI/CD processes globally and mentoring others to manage risk and regulatory compliance effectively.
• Work closely with architects and the team to deliver technical designs and solutions.
• Act as a technical leader and mentor, supporting team members through complex programming paradigms and guiding best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with coaches, platform leads, and ITALs to enhance platform and project outcomes.
• Plan and manage deployment of system features, monitor integration success, and maintain system health throughout its life cycle.
• Develop, test, and support mobile and web-based applications.
• Provide software recommendations to meet emerging requirements in banking functionalities and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of professional experience using Java/J2EE technologies including SQL, JSP, Servlet, JDBC, RESTful and Web Services, XML, and JSON.
• Minimum 5 years in a team leadership role.
• Demonstrated banking domain expertise.
• Proficient with Java application frameworks such as EJB, Apache Camel, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Experienced with relational databases like Oracle and DB2 or comparable systems.
• Familiar with continuous integration tools, including Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, and Maven.
• Skilled in development using modern web technologies.
• Knowledgeable in application servers such as JBoss, IBM WebSphere, and WebLogic.
• Hands-on experience working in Agile environments.
• Strong capabilities in debugging and performance optimization.
